Bud was raised in Hope and his family roots go back 150 years in the community; Ann grew up in various small towns throughout southern
Old memories spur new traditions. Bud remembers “penny jars” located at local businesses during his childhood to raise money for playgrounds, class trips, Little League – things that couldn’t be afforded any other way. But the next time a need arose, the jar was again empty.
As Bartholomew Society members, Bud and Ann view an
endowment as a way to give money that will be there forever – so the jar will be full when the next time comes around.
