Heritage Fund Celebrates Community Week and National Philanthropy Day
Heritage Fund is celebrating Community Week (November 12-18) and National Philanthropy Day (November 15) by announcing two exciting new initiatives.
Women for Women
The establishment of the “Women for Women” Giving Circle Fund dedicated to women’s issues in Bartholomew County. This new fund will be a “circle” of women empowered to strengthen Bartholomew County through charitable giving. This initiative will be led by Heritage Fund Board Member Linda Behrman who said “Women are a powerful philanthropic voice in our community and by bringing this group together there will be no limits to what they can accomplish.”

Teen/Youth Philanthropy
The Heritage Fund Board of Directors are excited to announce it will be working with area teens and youth to establish a board made up entirely of community youth with a philanthropic purpose. “The young people of our community make up a very important and valuable voice in our community today and will be the philanthropists of tomorrow. We hope this initiative will provide a place for many of our already philanthropically youth to learn more about serving the needs in our community as well as providing a place for others to learn about the importance of philanthropy,” said Lisa Shafran, Vice President of Development for Heritage Fund This board under the guidance of adult mentors will establish its own guidelines for fundraising and grant making for youth related issues and projects. “We hope this will give young people the opportunity to experience board responsibilities and the impact grant making has in our community,” Heritage Fund Board member and Development Committee Chair Mickey Kim.
