Used to apply for 55 of the scholarships administered by the Heritage Fund: Heritage Fund Combined Scholarship Application
Kirby and Caroline Risk Scholarship – Established by Sharon Risk Stark, President and CEO of the Heritage Fund, in memory of her father, Kirby Risk, and in honor of her mother, Caroline Risk.
Criteria: Bartholomew County student planning to attend Purdue University, Hanover College or Wabash College. Must have at least a B minus (7.0 on a 12.0 scale or 2.67 on a 4.0 scale). Applicants cannot be one of the top ten graduates in their class. Preference will be given to students with a record of school, church and/or community involvement. Special consideration will be given to any student who would be the first member of his/her immediate family to attend college. Students may apply/reapply each year they attend college.

Michael R. Rogers Memorial Scholarship – Established in memory of Michael R. Rogers by his friends and family to honor Michael's dedication to Christian education.
Criteria: Resident of Bartholomew County who is a graduating high school senior pursuing his/her post-secondary education at a college or university that has member status with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

Marguerite Burns Rust Scholarship – Established by Marguerite Burns Rust, a former resident of Columbus, interested in helping others further their education.
Criteria: Employees of Columbus Regional Hospital seeking training for advanced positions such as LPN to RN, RN to BSN, Care Partner to Certified Nursing Assistant or Clerk to Medical Secretary, etc.
Application Required: Not available in 2010
Marguerite Burns Rust Scholarship for Veterinary Studies– Mrs. Rust established this scholarship to encourage students working with and caring for animals.
Criteria: Graduates of a Bartholomew County high school enrolled in Purdue University's Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technology undergraduate degree programs or pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Science Degree at Purdue University.
Application Required: Not available in 2010
Charles D. Shepherd Memorial Scholarship -Established by family and friends in memory of Charles Shepherd who passed away in 2002. Mr. Shepherd was a retired vice-president of engineering at Arvin Industries North American.
Criteria: Bartholomew County female student planning to study a life science such as biology, molecular biology, microbiology or biochemistry at an accredited college or university.

Laura Showalter Memorial Scholarship – Established in memory of Laura Showalter, a former Columbus elementary teacher and member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
Criteria: Residents of Bartholomew County who plan to study music at an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
Application Required: Heritage Fund Combined Scholarship Application. An audition may be requested.
John R. Skobel III Memorial Scholarship – Established in memory of John R. Skobel III, a Columbus North High School student who died in an automobile accident in 1988.
Criteria: Graduating seniors from Columbus North High School who have participated in the school's football program and who plan to pursue post-secondary education as a full-time student at a vocational/technical school, junior college, college or university.
Application Required: No application. Recipient selected by Selection Committee.
Paul and Prudence Steinbarger Memorial Scholarship – Established with a bequest from the estate of Mrs. Steinbarger to provide four-year scholarships to area students to attend Indiana University.
Criteria: Graduates of any Bartholomew County high school within the past five years who have graduated in the top 10 percent of their class and who will be attending any campus of Indiana University. Financial need will be considered. The scholarship will be renewed for up to three years as long as the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Barbara W. Stewart Scholarship – This fund was established by Robert N. and Barbara Westermeier Stewart in 1981 to give support to the people who are the backbone of our day to day lives in the community. Barbara Stewart served on the Heritage Fund Board of Directors and passed away in 2003.
Criteria: Residents of Bartholomew and Decatur counties who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree. Previous recipients are encouraged to reapply.

Jennifer Strietlemeier Memorial Scholarship – Established in 1993 in memory of Jennifer Strietelmeier, a dedicated supporter of the arts in Bartholomew County, who died in an automobile accident.
Criteria: Bartholomew County residents pursuing post-secondary school studies in the visual arts.
Application Required: Heritage Fund Combined Scholarship Application and five examples of applicant's art work. Art work should be delivered to the Heritage Fund office at 538 Franklin Street, Columbus.
Toyota Industrial Equipment Mfg., Inc. Scholarship – Established in 2000 by Toyota Industrial Equipment Mfg., Inc. (T.I.E.M.) in celebration of the company's tenth year in Columbus and in appreciation of the support that the Columbus community has given to T.I.E.M.
Criteria: Graduating seniors from the Columbus East, Columbus North and Hauser high schools who plan to pursue two-year or four-year degrees at accredited colleges or universities as full-time students. Community service, academic performance and financial need will be considered.
