LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE

Heritage Fund's  “Love Where You Live” Campaign, launched in 2019, benefits its Community Fund. Through this annual campaign, we provide opportunities to celebrate our community and give back to the projects, programs, and organizations that have made it so special.

The Love Where You Live Campaign seeks to raise funds to be invested for the long-term benefit of the community.  Individuals as well as local businesses are encouraged to “Love Where You Live” with a donation to the campaign to support community initiatives.

Heritage Fund annually awards more than $650,000 in grants from the Community Fund to address various community needs as they arise. Community Fund grants allow the community foundation to support local nonprofits and the residents they serve in a variety of ways. Grants this year have included:

  • Community Education Coalition – $50,000 to support a new Early Leaning Coordinator position

  • Su Casa Indiana and Foundation for Youth – $28,500 to support M.E.T.A.S. summer program

  • Columbus Area Chamber Foundation – $90,000 ($30,000 annually through 2024) to renew the Velocities entrepreneurial partnership with the City of Bloomington

  • Students Fund of Hope – $5,000 to support programming in the Hope and Hartsville areas

  • Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District – $4,420 to support recycling program improvements

This year’s artwork by Hope graphic designer Amy Harden recognizes things that make Bartholomew County a place people want to live. Harden appreciates the balance between a community that promotes art and architecture as well as farming and agriculture. Her inspiration of “a community with small city charm and big city opportunity” sums up part of what makes our county special and worth investing in!
